With all racing in 2020 having been wiped out by the Covid pandemic, uncertainty over ongoing restrictions made planning a traditional Evening League season in the months of May to July 2021 impossible and, with public perceptions slow to change, most clubs still felt unable to stage a “normal” race on their usual course. However Wetherby Runners and Harrogate Harriers each hosted a race later in the summer and seven other clubs created courses for virtual races controlled and timed by the MapRun App which were could be run at any time over the season, generally between 1 June and 31 August.

COMBINED RESULTS FOR VIRTUAL RACESTHE TWO PHYSICAL RACES With thanks to the organising clubs
HANDICAP RESULTS: Gross time is the time elapsed from when the first runner started – 7:19:35 pm. There was a slight discrepancy between your official start time and your actual start time because of the need to keep you away from the mats until the word “GO!” Net time is your actual chip time. Thanks to all the team at Otley for pulling off a successful end to the season and everybody who organised the earlier races. 658 people ran in at least one race which I reckon is a record for the League. Fantastic!

2015 was the 30th Anniversary of the League.
From a 2015 League runner … “I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone involved in running this league. I’ve been very sad to throw away my number this year having enjoyed it so much. Countdown to 2016 begins!”
Tim Inglehearn, Chris Carver, and Malcolm Pickering have provided older results and materials that we have scanned and indexed below.
These archives make fascinating reading! Did you know that the League has had races as short as 5km and as long as 10 miles, and once only a XC race! And it’s inspiring to see how long some of the League’s runners have been racing!
We’d like to add to this archive. Can you help? – if you have any old results to fill the gaps below (mainly the earlier years 1985-88), or photos or newspaper clippings we’d be very happy to include them here. You can send Paul scanned materials as PDF files (documents) or JPEG files (pictures) if you’re able to produce those yourself, or we’d be happy to scan any printed material and return it to you. Thank you.
